My first thought upon reading the article “$15.8M in federal relief to land in La Plata County” (May 20) was to hope that local governments will seriously consider using some of that money to locate the proposed weather radar system on Bridge Timber Mountain, as promoted by a number of longtime and knowledgeable residents, including Butch Knowlton.
Seems to me that the best place is far superior to the less expensive but also less useful place south of Durango. What other project would benefit more of the citizens of our region than that?
