In celebration of community, the Vallecito service League is hosting a "Rhinestone Cowboy" dinner and dance starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Vallecito Community Center.
The cost is $20 per person to cover a barbecue dinner and live music by Wild Country.
This event is not a fundraiser, just a chance for local folks to get together and have a good time.
Tickets must be purchased by Sept. 9 and are available at Vallecito Lake Country Market, or call 884-6021.
Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. although casual Western wear also is welcome. Costume ideas include rodeo bling, Native American, period costumes such as miner 49ers, sheriffs, saloon girls, pioneer garb, railroad workers, or turn-of-century ladies.
There also are awards for best dancers, door prizes, and the Vallecito Citizen of the Year will be named.
