Visit Durango, former DAHLA members form coalition

Visit Durango is delighted to announce a new and exciting resource for the hospitality and lodging community of La Plata County! Visit Durango’s Sales & Services Task Force has joined with the Durango Area Hospitality & Lodging Association to form the new La Plata County Hospitality & Lodging Coalition. The first meeting will be held on Sept. 26 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in downtown Durango.

Stefanie Panetta

Heading up this new coalition is Jenny Roberts, the general manager of the Hampton Inn by Hilton Durango, and former chairwoman of DAHLA. Roberts has been working alongside Visit Durango’s sales department to ensure this new coalition will be a helpful resource for the hospitality and lodging community.

The La Plata County Hospitality & Lodging Coalition was formed to provide educational, networking and growth opportunities for industry professionals across the county. Participating coalition members will have the chance to mingle, share ideas and take advantage of networking opportunities with industry colleagues. In addition to networking, the group will discuss key topics and keep up-to-date current events occurring across the county. Visit Durango will also provide insight on market trends and research, and will share opportunities from the Visit Durango sales department.

Members of the coalition will also hear from different speakers each meeting about relevant and educational topics. Our first speaker will be Suzy Phare, the Leadership & Corporate Teams coach and owner of Real Ideal Coaching. Phare has more than 20 years experience in executive coaching and human resources. management and has an active professional history within La Plata County. She will lead a group discussion about Coalition Challenges to Tackle Post-COVID.

This new coalition is not just for managers. All levels of employees from any hospitality or lodging business in the county are welcome to join! Visit Durango is proud to be able to sponsor the quarterly meetings, so that membership is free for all. Additionally, once a year the La Plata County Hospitality & Lodging Coalition will host a larger event to celebrate the hard work this industry does for Durango, offering more educational and networking opportunities, games and prizes.

We hope to see you at our first meeting on Sept. 26. We invite you to join us and help mold this coalition into a truly helpful resource for you. Registration is required, so if you are interested in joining, reach out to Visit Durango’s Sales Coordinator Stefanie Panetta at Stefanie@Durango.org to secure your spot.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Stefanie Panetta is sales coordinator at Visit Durango.
