What has happened with the La Plata Electric Association elections? This year’s elections have taken on a new low. How important is winning?
I have had my candidate post cards removed from bulletin boards. My opponent’s advertisements have been posted on my Facebook page. People have posted comments calling me some very vile names.
Joe Wheeling’s opponent has apparently distributed a letter he has signed that trashes Joe with what some have called half-truths. To me a half truth is a total lie. Why do people think this kind of behavior is acceptable?
There is a lot of information in these elections that is being distributed that is not factual. I have not disparaged my opponent. I don’t even know her.
I have refused any donations. These elections should not be about money. There are challengers that are spending thousands of dollars. Why would anyone fund this much money if they did not expect a return?
I am not representing any group or organization in this letter, and it is solely my opinion. I have always represented the 30,000 members, not just the ones that expect a return on their investment.
