Gun safety rally was about gun control

The liberals are at it again.

As with “global cooling” doing the oh-so convenient morph into “global warming” then into “climate change” while Miami remains high, or dry, the gun control lobby (read: “do what I say ‘cuz I be smarter than thee”) has undergone several transitions in terminology, each more “innocent” than the last.

The latest on display is “gun safety.” Never mind that the term is a euphemism for gun control. If safety were the actual issue, there would be instruction in a general manner on gun safety for children and interested persons.

But from what we saw on June 3 of this year, right here in gerrymandered La Plata County (Herald, June 3), this will be a gun-related program to equal the intellect of the actress who bemoaned her stained sheets on another “national” day of something.

And, of course, a lot of orange T-shirts railing against true proponents of gun safety, of which there are many (the National Rifle Association races to mind). Nothing about gun safety, just gun control.

It is as intellectually bankrupt, and racist, as extolling the virtues of Margaret Sanger and Rachel Carson, both of whom are directly or indirectly complicit in the demise of more black children than firearms in Chicago, or the USA for that matter.
