I am writing in support of Chris Bettin for Durango City Council.
Chris cares about affordable housing and smart growth: two areas that I think need to be planned carefully. Chris has been a strong community leader serving on boards and taking responsibility on those boards as chief financial officer. This is the type of leadership that we can benefit from as a community.
Chris has a very distinctive leadership style and thinks before he speaks; this is because he is an observer and can think though all sides of an argument before he presents his viewpoints.
I met Chris through parks and recreation when he was a volunteer coach for youth basketball. His coaching style is calm, consistent and direct. This leadership style was supportive for the youth basketball team and I believe that it will translate to the type of leader that we need in for Durango.
While I believe we have a strong pool of candidates to choose from, I am endorsing Chris Bettin.
