I am writing to encourage you to vote for Melissa Youssef in the upcoming election for Durango City Council.
As her friend and colleague, I must give her an A+ character reference because she is an amazing and talented individual that sincerely cares for our community. I have no doubt, if elected, that Melissa will make a very positive impact on the future of Durango.
She is open, transparent, reliable and works tirelessly on community issues. If you have not met her, please do, and I trust you will feel her love for our town.
I know Melissa as an independent and energetic community member, as well as a devoted and engaged wife and mother. It is a testament to her dedication and civic-mindedness that her entire family — Jim and the kids — are actively involved in the community on so many levels. They all operate with the highest level of integrity, because service and giving back is central to their lives and purpose. Their family, character, values, and love for our community are as solid as any I have ever known.
Melissa has a specific skill that too many of our leaders fail to possess: She listens. She will work toward ensuring that all voices, values, perspectives and opinions are welcome at the table. In doing so, I am confident she will represent all of us. This has been a central part of her campaign platform and I so respect and appreciate her for it.
Melissa has my vote for Durango City Council. I hope you do your homework and take time to vote. The election is on April 4th. We need her leadership.
