Like many businesses, San Juan Basin Health Department has been deeply affected by changes in the business and government economic landscape over the last five years. In addition, sweeping changes to the health-care industry through the Affordable Care Act have affected the organization in fundamental ways.
The need to adjust to significant decreases in funding and drastic changes in health care have created innumerable challenges. The health department’s mission to support the health of the community is paramount to it, and it has re-examined everything it does in the light of that mission and our changing world.
Naturally, and fortunately, the organization is changing to continue to provide what our communities most need. I have seen the dedication of staff members, know that management is committed to serving public health in the most relevant ways possible and appreciate their efforts toward the greater good.”
