I worked with James Lane for more than a decade at Nuclear Filter Technology, where he played a leading role in developing automated drum venting and gas analysis equipment used in the cleanup of former federal defense-related sites. The solutions James helped develop became a cornerstone of our company’s growth and helped position us to support the expanding clean nuclear energy sector.
What always stood out to me about James was not only his technical ability, but also his creativity, curiosity and steady judgment when facing deeply complex problems. Those qualities are rare on their own, and in James, they are well balanced.
His career later took him into even larger and more demanding challenges in the oil and gas industry, one of the most heavily regulated and competitive industries in the world. Through it all, James remained grounded in strong values and personal integrity. He never lost sight of the people affected by the decisions being made, including the community, stakeholders and families who depend on responsible leadership.
James’ connection to Southwest Colorado, Archuleta County and La Plata County runs deep. I have also had the privilege of watching his children grow into thoughtful and grounded adults, which says a great deal about the kind of man he is.
James is grounded, trustworthy and faithful. He would serve as an excellent Archuleta District 1 representative on the LPEA board and a strong ambassador for the communities he serves.
