The Demons came up big when it mattered most for the second consecutive game.
The Durango High School boys basketball team defeated archrival Montezuma-Cortez 57-51 on Thursday in Cortez.

DHS (8-5, 4-1 Southwestern League) beat Montrose by three in its last game after largely playing with big margins of victory and defeat for most of the season.
The Demons, who have won two consecutive road games, will play at Fruita Monument on Feb. 7, followed by a road game at Grand Junction Central the next afternoon.
Both are SWL games.
