Tipton and Gardner must be accountable

Rep. Scott Tipton has joined the ranks of Sen. Cory Gardner when it comes to being inaccessible and lacking accountability.

I called Rep. Tipton’s Durango office this morning to urge him to vote “no” on the pending health care reform bill, and was forwarded to his Grand Junction office, where the voicemail said that all staff would be out of the office most of the day.

When the beep came, I got “this mailbox is full” (at 8 a.m.).

I then sent an email from Tipton’s website and got an auto-response that essentially said, “Go to my D.C. website and send it again.”

These are not the systems of a representative who wants to hear from his constituents, or even respects them.

We deserve better.
