Youssef has leadership qualities we need

I’m writing in support of Melissa Youssef for Durango City Council.

I recently had the opportunity to see firsthand how Melissa approaches challenges, problem solving and decision-making. Before taking a position, she actively seeks to understand an issue from all sides and encourages public input and discourse.

She is a fastidious researcher, a keen questioner and a great listener. When it’s time to move forward, she is decisive and clear. These are qualities I seek in a representative and a leader.

While many people attempt to distill complex issues into sound bites, Melissa demonstrates a sincere respect for the constituency by acknowledging that the challenges we face as community are never one-sided and are rarely cut and dry. She puts in the effort to research, to listen, and to understand so that she can ultimately present a comprehensive, clear and thoughtful analysis.

Melissa’s devotion to the community is genuine. She has a long history of volunteering for local government and non-profit entities, and her enthusiasm in person is palpable.

I encourage you to consider Melissa Youssef for Durango City Council.
