Animas Museum to host World War I French 75 party

The French 75 Cocktail was invented during World War I and was allegedly named after a powerful artillery gun.

The Animas Museum will host a party at El Moro Spirits and Tavern, 945 Main Ave., in support of the museum from 5 to 7 p.m. on February 21.

The featured drink will be a French 75 Cocktail. This champagne-based drink was invented during World War I and was named after the 75mm field artillery gun, allegedly because of its powerful kick.

El Moro’s culinary staff will offer special period-appropriate menu items. WWI historic interpreters will mingle among the tables and a trivia contest will test your WWI knowledge.
