The scammer creeps are at it again. I recently received a call from a man calling from (202) 202-1234 – yes, that’s the number that registered on my caller ID.
He called to say that he represents Microsoft and some errors have been noticed within my operating system. He requested that I let him take over the controls on my computer.
I hung up. I’ve heard of this scam. The caller takes over the controls, as well as all the information he desires – bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, you name it. If it’s in the computer, it’s fair game.
Be careful out there, neighbors. There appears to be a new scam every minute.
