As a 30-plus year resident of La Plata County, I have seen changes in the county and its towns as the population has doubled over that time. If you have been here as long, or longer than I have, then you likely want to keep the high-quality lifestyle that we enjoy. If you are a newcomer, you likely moved here for that high-quality lifestyle.
We can thank Duke Schirard and his department for helping us all enjoy this living environment. It doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat, Republican or Independent, we all receive the same quality of service. So put those partisan tags aside and consider the many years of service that our sheriff has given to us residents, and remember that it is his dedication that has helped to build what we have here.
