Don’t give a tea party commission seat

Brad Blake is the founder of the Durango Tea Party, as reported in the Herald (April 11, 2010). His comment then was, “Government has stepped on our throats.” He believes that “Agenda 21 is no myth” (Herald, Sept. 30), which translates to “The United Nations is using local land use codes to take over La Plata County.” He has said, “There’s never been a problem with fracking.” (Herald, Sept. 9). Really?

Be very, very careful with your vote – think hard about whether you want the tea party to have a four-year seat on our Board of County Commissioners.

Democrat Cynthia Roebuck, a professional land-use planner, is the far more conservative and logical choice.
