Hoskins’ 2 bests Becker’s 1

FLC drops second consecutive match

Yannis Becker’s first goal of the season wasn’t enough for the No. 20 Fort Lewis College men’s soccer team.

St. Mary’s sophomore midfielder Ryan Hoskins scored twice in the second half to lead the Rattlers to a 2-1 victory over the Skyhawks on Friday in Laredo, Texas.

Becker scored on a direct free kick from 15 yards out in the 31st minute.

Hoskins scored the winner in the 83rd minute on a 12-yard shot from the left corner.

FLC (1-2) outshot St. Mary’s (2-1) 12-9 and put five shots on goal compared to four for the Rattlers.

The Skyhawks have lost two consecutive matches and will play one more game in Laredo against Texas A&M International at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
