House race is a study of opposites

I recently heard J. Paul Brown’s cowboy song advertisement. While I trust that J. Paul is a man, a good man, the fact that he chose this song to represent him as a candidate illustrates his lack of substance and grasp of the issues. We don’t need a lone-ranger cowboy representing us in the State Legislature. We need Mike McLachlan.

Mike knows how to work across the aisle. He understands the need to build solutions through compromise. Mike is bright, well-educated and exercises good, critical-thinking skills as our representative. J. Paul voted no to others’ ideas; Mike takes the initiative to propose solutions to problems. J. Paul is a hypocrite; he defends the entitlement programs in government that subsidize his sheep operation out one side of his mouth, while condemning big government out the other side of his mouth.

Mike is an informed, independent thinker, determined and courageous enough to stand up for what we need. J. Paul is a puppet for the Republican tea party. J. Paul is all hat, no cattle. Mike has a good grasp of the substantive issues. J. Paul seems to believe that he looks the part of a legislator; Mike believes it takes hard work and understanding to serve our needs well.

We have a simple choice. Who has represented us better in Denver over the last four years? The answer is clear – please vote for Mike McLachlan to continue to represent us.
