Here’s the bottom line – LPEA is among the most responsive, innovative, proactive and effectively-run local energy coops in the country.
To keep it that way, please vote for incumbents John Witchel (District 4), Joe Lewandowski (District 3), and Holly Metzler (District 1). Starting April 21 you can vote online through your account at: lpea.coop/.
I’ve lived in two other states where utility companies or local co-ops were tied to the past or to profits of shareholders, leading to devastating consequences like massive power outages and fires that consumed entire towns. I’ve experienced firsthand what happens when a utility isn’t tuned in to the needs of its constituents.
LPEA has responsibly invested in grid infrastructure upgrades to expand renewable energy sources, protect our safety and reduce greenhouse emissions. Even more important, LPEA and its incumbent board members have made fiscally responsible decisions regarding controlling our own power supply, employing new technologies, turning toward alternative energy sources and cutting ties to a power provider that is burdened by billions in debt.
And while MAGA constituents want you to believe that huge rate increases are coming, in fact, LPEA secured a power supply agreement that will reduce its power costs by 10% compared to current Tri-State fees – a major win for member affordability.
Even better, no rate increases are expected in 2026 as a result of the shift – a testament to the board’s careful planning and commitment to protecting members’ wallets.
Keep LPEA local. Vote John Witchel (District 4), Joe Lewandowski (District 3), and Holly Metzler (District 1).
