Make changes to currency relevant

According to The New Yorker, portraits depicted on U.S. currency haven’t changed since 1929. Why are we discussing replacing Andrew Jackson with Amelia Earheart on the $20 as if it’s a women’s-rights issue? What purpose does the change serve society?

It’s not that I’m opposed to feminism, and by rejecting this idea, some people may accuse me of such. But I want a feminist movement that’s progressive and relevant. How about purposing a new bank note, the $75 variety? It would be relevant, helpful and unique – words I want to associate with the modern feminist movement, not changes to staples that are unnecessary.
