Starting the week of Dec. 14, Pine River Library will offer free books for babies, children and teens.
The giveaway is inspired by Jólabókaflóð (pronounced yo-la-bok-a-flot), or “Yule Book Flood,” the Icelandic holiday tradition where books are exchanged as gifts on Christmas Eve. Icelanders then spend the evening reading their newly gifted books.
The free books, like all the library’s services, will be available by curbside service. After arriving in the parking lot, call the library at 884-2222, ext. 1, and provide the age of the child and a book will be brought out to the vehicle.
For more information, call 884-2222, ext. 1.
