Seasons in Durango to host annual ‘Burning Down the House’

As has become tradition, Seasons Rotisserie & Grill will be “Burning Down the House” from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 21 as it hosts its ninth annual fundraiser benefiting Durango’s emergency responders through the 100 Club.

The 100 Club’s mission is to provide financial assistance to families of law enforcement and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty, and to provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare.

The evening has been organized annually as a “thank-you” to Durango Fire & Rescue/Durango Fire Protection District, and personnel who responded to the fire in the 700 block of Main Avenue in February 2008, which destroyed three businesses, including Seasons.

“As we are reminded each year, we cannot do enough to help our firefighters and emergency personnel,” said Seasons owner Karen Barger, in a news release.

This year, Executive Chef Dennis Morrisroe, with Sous Chef Clark Peterson and team, will keep with the fire theme creating special dinner menu items that are “smoky” and “spicy hot.”

Durango Fire & Rescue, which will station a fire truck on Main in front of Seasons, will decorate the restaurant for the event, with details including fire extinguisher squirt guns.

Dinner reservations for “Burning Down the House” are required, and space is limited. Visit www.seasonsofdurango.com for event information or call 382-9790 for reservations.
