Seasons Rotisserie & Grill to host ‘Burning Down the House’ fundraiser

Seasons Rotisserie & Grill will be “Burning Down the House” from 4-9 p.m. on Friday as it hosts its annual fundraiser benefitting Durango’s emergency responders through the 100 Club.

The 100 Club’s mission is to provide financial assistance to families of law enforcement and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty, and to provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare.

The evening has been organized annually as a “thank you” to the Durango Fire & Rescue/Durango Fire Protection District and personnel who responded to the downtown fire in the 700 block of Main Avenue in February 2008, which destroyed three businesses, including Seasons.

Seasons Rotisserie & Grill reopened at 764 Main Ave. in 2009, and in 2010, owners Karen and Wayne Barger launched the “Burning Down the House” event.

“As we are reminded each year, we cannot do enough to help our firefighters and emergency personnel,” said Karen Barger in a news release. “This continues to be both a celebration of Seasons as a literal phoenix from the flames and a thank you to those who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.”

This year, Executive Chef Dennis Morrisroe, Sous Chef Clark Peterson and their team will keep with the fire theme, creating menu items that are “smoky” and “spicy hot.”

Proceeds from beverage and food sales will be presented to the nonprofit 100 Club following the event. Seasons’ staff will donate their time for the event.

Dinner reservations for “Burning Down the House” are required, and space is limited. Visit www.seasonsofdurango.com for event information or call 382-9790 for reservations.
