Silverton mayor, trustees deserve support for work

Referring to the Herald’s Silverton recall articles of Aug. 5 and 12 , Mayor Shane Fuhrman, Mayor Pro Tem Sallie Barney and Trustee Jordan Bierma were elected by a majority vote, and the decisions they have made are supported by many of those voters.

We thank them for accepting a more or less volunteer job, which is complex and very time-consuming. The mayor and the above trustees are skilled at many things, especially fairness and thoughtfulness. They consider the complicated big picture analytically and precisely, in the context of a maze of policies and procedures.

The reader of the Herald articles needs meaningful information. It would be great if the reader could have a deeper understanding of what is really happening in Silverton.

It’s a challenging moment, but I fully expect this recall to fail.
