Durango students can draw prizes for completing portion of summer workbook

Durango School District students are invited to draw a prize this week during the Summer Bridge workbook checkpoint event. Prizes will be awarded to students who completed the second portion (to Page 80) of the workbook.

Prizes include gift certificates to the Powerhouse Science Center, Mountain Studies Institute’s “Water Wizards” program and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Students who missed the first checkpoint can draw a second prize to either the Durango Community Recreation Center or the Wibit at Lake Nighthorse.

Check-ins will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday (July 13) at all of the district’s elementary schools (except Needham because of construction); or students may go to the checkpoint at Durango School District 9-R’s office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday or Thursday (July 13 or 14).
